Harley-Davidson's Andrew Hines
is now on the verge of clinching
his fourth NHRA Mello Yello Pro
Stock Motorcycle championship.
Heading into the season finale in
Pomona, Hines has a 94-point
lead over his teammate Eddie
Krawiec, which means in es-
sence, he only needs to qualify
in order to clinch the title.
"It's looking good but I don't
want to play defense," Hines
said. "When we get to Pomona,
I want to qualify well, earn some
bonus points so I have it clinched
going into Sunday. I basically
want to do the same thing I did
this weekend."
Hines won his sixth event of
the season with a dominating
performance that included an
impressive 6.85-second run to
claim the top spot in qualifying.
Hines was significantly quicker
