VOL. 51 ISSUE 42 OCTOBER 21, 2014 P37
Y
amaha is bringing back the
WR250F and adding the
YZ250FX to its off-road lineup
for 2015. Joining the WR450R,
which got a major makeover in
2012, the WR250F and YZ250FX
are both closely related to the
2015 YZ250F motocrosser.
Both bikes feature the YZ250F's
retuned rearward slanted, fuel-in-
jected, 249cc, DOHC four-stroke
engine with four titanium valves, as
well as its bilateral beam frame and
KYB SSS front suspension.
With single-track in mind, both
the WR250F and YZ250FX get
electric starters, aluminum side
stands, 18-inch rear wheels, and
six-speed transmissions. The
WR gets an additional skid plate,
meter and front and rear lighting.
The YZ250FX is a more stripped-
down version of the WR designed
and tuned more for GNCC-style
racing.
Californians will be glad to hear
that the WR250F is "green-stick-
er" approved.
The YZ250FX has an MSRP of
$7890 and the WR250F $7990.
