BAYLISS SET FOR SUPERPRESTIGIO
F
ormer World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss
has confirmed he will accept an invitation from
MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez to contest
the Superprestigio Dirt Track event in Barcelona on
December 13.
"I am excited to confirm that I will be accept-
ing an invitation to take part in the Superprestigio
in Barcelona on December 13," Bayliss said. "It
is perfect timing for me, it will be two weeks af-
ter MOTO EXPO Melbourne so I will have a good
lead-up event to help me prepare. This will be the
second running of the Superprestigio and I'm sure
it has grown now that a lot of top European riders
are taking part. I am hoping that it will help raise
awareness of dirt track in Australia and we will see
some big names return for the Troy Bayliss Classic
in the future.
Marquez, who was in Australia for the Tissot Aus-
tralian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, said
he was thrilled to confirm the Australian motorcycle
legend's participation in his event.
"This is great," Marquez said. "I am excited.
Hopefully, he can come to Barcelona a few days
early and practice with me on my track."
Despite retiring from racing professionally, Bayl-
iss has enjoyed great success in 2014, winning the
Troy Bayliss Classic, laying claim to three Austra-
lian Flat Track titles and two Australian SuperMoto
titles.
Troy Bayliss will
race in the Super-
prestigio dirt track
in Spain and will go
head to head with
Marc Marquez.
