"There was definitely some spots you could pass on, but there was a good line going all the way around the track. So I knew if we were close enough in speed I could stay in front of him." Webb held on to take the final podium position. Fortunately for him, Blazusiak was in a distant fourth place struggling to stay steady, and never came close enough to threaten him for third. Although Webb isn't exactly My Own Race: #1 TADDY BLAZUSIAK 4 TH Defending champion Taddy Blazusiak looked somewhat out of sorts in Washington, and for the first time this sea- son, finished off the podium. Blazusiak didn't have much to say about his night, or his crash-riddled main event, except to say it wasn't his night. "It all started wrong from the first thing in the morning," Blazusiak said. "Anyway, I'm happy with fourth-place and we're still in the championship hunt, so that's pretty good. We didn't lose too many points. All the other guys made a lot of mistakes. I had some bad luck and some wrong decisions and some bad decisions. The track was good. It was challenging. It was pretty tech- nical, that's for sure. But it still was a good track. I enjoyed racing it. But like I said, it wasn't the best of nights. We're definitely pushing it, you know?" #3 MIKE BROWN 5 TH It was another ho-hum round for factory Husqvarna's Mike Brown who has found his consistency in EnduroCross, but is looking for a podium breakthrough before the season is out. "I started out good again, got the holeshot," said Brown. "I got a good start, made it to the firepit before the finish and crashed again and just battled my way back up, back and forth, crashing in the rocks again. The track was (Above) Sandra Gomez (93) overtook Morgan Tanke (3) and never looked back to take the win in the Women's class. (Above right) Webb rebounded to finish out the night on the podium and earn valuable points on Blazusiak.
