IN THE WIND P30 WHAT'S NEW WITH STAR RACING? NOT MUCH I n what has been one of the busiest off seasons in regards to rider, motorcycle and team changes in Supercross and mo- tocross, the Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha Team is one of the few staying steady for the 2015 season. The team recently announced its official squad and it should sound very fa- miliar to you. Jeremy Martin, Cooper Webb and An- thony Rodriguez will all be back for another term under the Star Racing roof and will continue to receive support from the Yama- ha factory. Martin will wear the number-one plate on his YZ250F in the 250-class outdoors next year and will be joined by Webb and Rodriguez. All three will also compete for Supercross titles in the 250 class. Amateur racer Aaron Plessinger will join the trio after competing in his final race as an amateur at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas. Plessinger has already been riding a Yamaha through the team's amateur program. "This year was simply amazing," said Star Racing team owner Bobby Regan. "I've dreamt about this moment for a long time and I knew with the people we have on the team and the bikes that Yamaha pro- vides us this was going to happen. I'm very excited to see what 2015 and beyond holds for our team and I couldn't be happier to continue our awesome relationship with Yamaha." "I'm so proud of everyone at Star Racing," said Yamaha Motor Co. Racing Division Manager Keith McCarty. "We worked together and created a long term plan to develop riders from our amateur moto- cross program and stuck with it. The results so far couldn't have been any sweeter. Yamaha is very ex- cited to see what 2015 holds with last year's trio of Martin, Webb, and Rodriguez returning along with new rookie Plessinger." Defending 250 Motocross Champion Jeremy Martin will continue his tenure with the Yamahalube/ Star Racing/ Yamaha Team for 2015. TESTING BAN LIFTED FOR WORLD SUPERS A fter some intense lobbying by the teams in World Superbike, the winter testing ban for 2014/15 is effectively suspended to allow proper preparations for the extensive new tuning and technical rules that will come in next year. The ban now runs from December 21 to January 4 inclusive, instead of the previous full month of De- cember through to mid-January. There has also been a big upward lift in the maxi- mum age of Superstock 1000 FIM Cup competitors to 28 years old.
