West HS title last month, he had nothing
to prove yet still charged hard, saying,
"I'm just trying to get ready for next year,
just trying to keep improving. I never
liked doing GPs until this year. I really
like them with the Husky. To be honest,
I wasn't that good at them, but I'm trying
to improve and seems like I'm getting
better and better each round."
Top West Coast GP Pro II regular
Nick Stover spent most of the race on
his 3 Bros. Husky TC 250 chasing Dal-
ton Shirey, who was making his Pro II
debut memorable by leading that
class most of the afternoon.
In the end, Stover's patient ap-
plication of pressure paid off and
he passed the Maxxis YZ250-
mounted Shirey whose hands
simply couldn't take it any longer,
the pair earning fourth and fifth
overall, respectively.
As for Yorba, he settled for sixth
overall and fourth Pro, keeping his
Big 6 points lead but not wrapping
things up as he'd hoped. "Hope-
fully, I can wrap it up at Gorman
next month."
