up rocketing off the line with the
holeshot aboard his John Burr
Cycles/Monster Energy/Moose
Racing-backed KX450F, Bell lan-
guishing at the back of the pack
due to a three-kick start.
Bell wasn't the only one facing
the prospect of coming through
the pack after a less-than-stellar
beginning—so too was Big 6
points leader Eric Yorba.
"Bad start," Yorba said. "The
whole first half of it was just rid-
ing in dust; you couldn't see any-
thing.
"Right after the dust stopped,
they sent us into a bunch of mud
puddles that splashed my gog-
gles pretty bad so I had to take
my goggles off and I ran two laps
without goggles."
Actually, Bell's back-of-the-
pack start may have worked in
his favor, since he'd arrived late
and missed the Unclassified race
in the morning that many use as
practice and had to rely on mem-
ory as well as reflexes, as he
made his way around for the first
lap or two.
Before long, only Seeds and
Bel-Ray/FMF/Moose Racing
Husqvarna Factory Off-road Rac-
ing Team's Jacob Argubright were
