Blazusiak struggled to make up for his mistake, and couldn't reel Haaker back in. "The pace we're running right now is just…crazy, I have to say," Blazusiak said. "I was all over the place going as fast as I could and we're definitely pushing the bikes to the limit in EnduroCross. It's fun, for sure, riding at that limit. The evening hot laps (just before the main event), saw Cody Webb take the pole posi- tion, and first gate pick for the main. Both riders were awarded an extra championship point for their hot lap win. Described by most as "just motoey enough to be fun," the Denver Endu- roCross course took advantage of the generous floor space at the Na- tional Western Complex. With more room between obstacles than usual, the course had a good flow. Rid- ers also enjoyed the fact that there were multiple lines through many of the obstacles. "I think it was the perfect mixture between gnarly and racey," said Beta's Max Gerston. "It made for good racing because you could pass. There was, like, three or four different lines in the rocks so it worked out." Destry Abbott agreed. "It was an awesome track!" he said. "I think it was one of the best tracks we've had in a while," Abbott said. "We had little ruts. You were on the edge, you were having fun, jumping stuff and you're almost coming up over the bars. The spectators loved it and I heard the crowd going wild. It was an awesome track tonight!"
