WORLD SUPERBIKE
WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 11/OCTOBER 5, 2014
MAGNY-COURS CIRCUIT/MAGNY-COURS, FRANCE
P62
more in race two than in race
one.
Claudio Corti took the MV
Agusta Reparto Corse F4RR to
a strong eighth place in the rain,
with the struggling Chaz Davies
ninth on a bad day for the offi-
cial Ducati team, after Giugliano
joined a list of 12 retirees and one
non-starter.
The upshot of all the cries of
foul up front and the continuing
rise of the Aprilia riders is that
only Sykes and his 378 points or
Guintoli on 366 can win the title,
as Melandri took over third place,
but 66 points adrift with only 50
to play for.
Fourth in the championship is
Rea, who lost a place to Melandri,
while Baz is still fifth. That's the
worst he can finish with Davies
sixth and 87 points behind.
The next and final round will
be in the desert at Losail (and at
night) and - as Sykes is already
wishing for given his post-race
comments - it will probably be
held in the dry. CN
