None were better than this as he put in a new track best of 1:36.366, beating his own previous best lap from 2012. He looked like he was trying hard and he admitted he was, but it was a remarkable performance considering he had crashed out of the free practice session only a short time before. "We took the fastest lap and it is part of our job title," Sykes said. "I was slowly gaining con- fidence this weekend, but in the crash I had too much lean angle and too much brakes but there was no worries. And the boys have me back on my little beauty for Superpole."
