INTERVIEW
JACK MILLER
P82
MOVING ON UP
Jack Miller controversially is skip-
ping Moto2 to ride in the MotoGP
Open class on a production Honda
for the LCR team. So naturally it was
the hot topic in the pre-race press
conference at Aragon.
"Of course I'm over the moon to
have this opportunity," Miller said.
"And you know, sure there are a
lot of question marks. But as Marc
[Marquez] said when he went up
he went to Moto2, but he was also
a lot lighter than I am now and a lot
smaller as well. So I think, physically
wise I can ride it.
"You know I've only been on a road
bike now since 2009. So I haven't
really been on one for very long. To
be thinking that I'm going to MotoGP
next year, it's a big step, but like they
said it's a long time period that I've
got. I believe with the time and with
the right attitude anything's possible.
I mean it's a motorbike. It's got two
tires and an engine so we'll do our
best."
Still there are many who wonder
why. For Miller the reason is clear.
"For me my goal is to go and ride
with the best in the world and if you
get handed that opportunity why not
take it," Miller said.
Miller's first opportunity looks to be
the post-race test at the final round in
Valencia, Spain this November.
"I'm 99 percent sure it will be in
Valencia," Miller said about his first
