The three races saw personal
career highlights for the likes of
Russia's Alex Tonkov (an irre-
pressible force on his first ride
with the works Husky FC350 as
he flew at the front and defied
third degree burns suffered after
the Grand Prix of Leon as a result
of having his right arm trapped
in Tixier's rear wheel), Sweden's
Freddie Noren (fifth in the sec-
ond moto) and Rockstar Suzuki's
Glenn Coldenhoff who was sec-
ond overall in MX2 for the Dutch.
USA Battles The Brits

However it was the tussle for the
last medals in the 2014 edition
between Great Britain and Team
USA that provided the nail-biting
scenes in the final seven laps
of the last moto. The Brits had
CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki's
Tommy Searle in a determined
mood. The former AMA racer
had failed to shine in a long slog
