INTERVIEW JACK MILLER P86 of a track and you get to get the bike sideways there. So it's a lot of fun. And also for me I grew up in Townsville; Townsville's really hot and humid so that track sort of plays special to me. Like last year it was the closest I'd ever finished to the front. So it's defi- nitely a special track to me." Miller is a natural entertainer. Maybe it's a part of his early Crusty Demon of Dirt ambitions. "When I was growing up watch- ing guys like Kevin [Schwantz]… When Kevin won a race he'd go mental," Miller said. "And you look to Rossi, when he wins rac- es… they all related to the fans and really gave the fans a show. My thing is when I was younger I went to watch Supercross a couple of times and those guys give you a show. You get a show not just racing. I think the fans pay good money to come and see you, why not give them a bit of a show? You know, go and do something stupid for them. That's what they want to see. Do some wheelies and stuff like that… they all love wheelies. Everybody loves a wheelie. So you know, go and do some silly stuff like that. It's always good." But it's not just your typical wheelie or burn-out celebrations for the young Australian. He's been known to break out a dis- play of goon riding, even break- ing out the worm dance move in a gravel trap. "Exactly… The worm, throw that out there," Miller said. "Just make yourself look a little bit stu- pid. Make people laugh at you. It's great. I know if I was a kid and someone when I was watching came and did something in front Everybody loves a wheelie, right? Miller is more than happy to oblige. " THIS SPORT IS FOR THE FANS. WITHOUT THEM WE'RE NOTHING. WE DON'T GET PAID. THAT'S HOW IT WORKS. "
