IN THE WIND P32 World Supersport is tough, but I am looking forward to riding the CIA Insurance Honda. It's been on the podium a couple of times this year and is clearly right up there with the best. I have realis- tic targets and want to see what I can achieve; this is going to be a great experience for me, I can't wait to get racing." The 32-year-old Colombian has international experience, having ridden in both Moto2 and 250cc Grand Prix. He has never raced at either Magny Cours or Losail, however. Cardenas will replace the team's regular rider Raffaele De Rosa. "We are delighted to be able to give Martin a competitive bike to race in the World Supersport Championship," said team man- ager Simon Buckmaster. "It will be difficult for him to race at the front of such a competitive cham- pionship, but he is a quality rider and we will be doing our best together to see just how fast he really is. Needing only six points to clinch the title, Janniro won all seven of his races for a perfect score on Saturday night at the Gold Country Fair- grounds in Auburn, California. Janniro came into the fourth and final round at Auburn with confidence after winning the previous three rounds at Costa Mesa, Ventura and City of In- dustry. He was completely domi- nant in the series, winning 27 of the 28 races staged in the four championship rounds. The sin- gular loss came at the second round in Ventura. Southern California speedway phenom Max Ruml was the only rider in the 16-rider field with a mathematical chance of beating Janniro for the championship. However the 17-year-old Ruml got off to a horrible start by scor- Billy Janniro won the 2014 U.S. Speedway National Championship on Saturday night in Auburn, California. PHOTOGRAPHY BY MICHAEL KIRBY
