MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 13/SEPTEMBER 14, 2014
MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT/RIMINI, ITALY
P66
eighth, with Marlboro Ducati's
Cal Crutchlow disputing it with
NGM Yamaha's Aleix Espargaro
and then also Go&Fun Honda's
Alvaro Bautista, the three of
them catching and passing fast
starter Yonny Hernandez and his
Pramac Ducati.
Crutchlow lost touch when
a tire spun on the rim, Espar-
garo had also dropped back but
caught and passed Bautista, only
to crash on the final lap.
Hernandez was a lonely 10th;
a long way back Cardion AB
Honda's Karel Abraham had
caught the similar bike of Hiro-
shi Aoyama, getting ahead to be
top RCV1000R for the first time;
and also first Open bike, when
Espargaro crashed. Scott Red-
ding was next and never in touch
after "a disastrous weekend, with
three crashes."
NGM Yamaha's Alex de Ange-
lis was 14th, in the points in his
third race on the ex-Colin Ed-
wards bike, and just two seconds
ahead of Marquez, who took the
last point off Hayden substitute
Leon Camier on the last lap.
Michael Laverty was 17th, his
PGM teammate Broc Parkes
next, a lap down, defeating Hec-
tor Barbera by two tenths.
Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda)
crashed out in the early stages,
by when Michel di Meglio and
Danilo Petrucci had already fall-
en.
Marquez's single-point score
hardly dents his lead: 289 points
to Pedrosa's 215; but Rossi's win
puts him within one point of Pe-
drosa. Lorenzo has 177, Dovizio-
so 142 points. CN
