AMA SUPERBIKE AMA PRO SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL ROUND/SEPTEMBER 13-14, 2014 NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK/MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY P48 Hayden, who raced with a sep- arated shoulder suffered in test- ing just before the race weekend, worked his way through the field to close in on Cardenas. The two teammates went back and forth in the closing stages with Hayden ultimately getting the better of the high-speed chess match to claim the runner-up spot. The Suzuki pair was 4.8 seconds behind Hayes at the flag. Hayden's excellent weekend, combined with the tough outing for Beaubier, meant that Hayden passed Beaubier for second in the final standings. Martinez, meanwhile, held off David Anthony at the line for fourth and that result had impli- cations in the standings as well. Anthony coming up just short of making that final pass meant he missed catching Chris Clark in the final standings by a single point in their battle for fourth. Martinez' career-best finish also moved him past Chris Ulrich to finish in the top-10 in the final standings. CN SUPERBIKE RACE 1 1. Roger Hayden (Suzuki) 2. Josh Hayes (Yamaha) 3.
