The RoadRace Factory/Red Bull
Yamaha team will be heading to
England to compete in the final
two rounds of the Supersport sup-
port class in the British Superbike
Series (BSB). The RoadRace Fac-
tory/Red Bull team is taking newly
crowned Daytona SportBike champ
Jake Gagne and his teammate To-
mas Puerta to England to race in the
British Supersport class on Yamaha
YZF-R6s. "I'm excited for the whole
experience," Gagne said. "New
tracks, new series, new class. I just
can't wait to get racing over there.
It's awesome to see all the hard work
the team and especially Danny Walk-
er has put into this effort, and we'll
work hard to make America proud."
Saturday's rain-drenched Superbike
race gave an opportunity for a few
unheralded riders to score career
best results, including fourth-place
Sean Dwyer. For Dwyer the more
rain races he sees the happier he
becomes. "I think they need to wa-
ter these tracks for every race," he
joked. "I seem to be doing well in the
rain. I got a sixth at Barber in the dry,
but that was a good time out there to-
day. There was a lot of carnage and
treacherous conditions, but it was a
fun race. I have a smooth style and
that helps in the rain, plus having
motocross experience where track
conditions change from lap to lap."
Canadian Superbike riders have
largely been absent in recent years,
much of it having to do with their se-
ries using a different tire brand. There
once was a Canadian pipeline that
for years supplied talent to the AMA
Superbike Championship and its
support classes. With the Canadian
Superbike season complete a cou-
ple of riders ventured down to New
Jersey. Marcel Irnie finished sixth
