CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "The isolation is over and we have a group that is very approachable and open." Carruthers Says… As always, the collective "we" (myself included) appreciate your words and mostly, the clarification of the various moni- kers (Carruthers Says, Issue 36, September 9). Some of us have a hatred for DMG that is so deep, it won't go away until we're actually watching some American riders on American tracks on a real TV channel - not an at-the-last-minute, bum- rushed website. I think with this editorial and the recent announcements, I'll kick that attitude to the dump and move forward. With their already-in-place relationships with various OEMs, the KRAVE principles know where they need to start and where the value is located. I am also a disabled motorcy- clist and went through much to be able to ride again after an insidious disease destroyed all my joint cartilage at a young age. I started riding the little kid motocross classes when I was 10 in 1967, but by the time I was 14, my spine and hips had completely fused together. I endured numerous surgeries and tortuous physical therapy after 12 years on crutches so I could ride again. Anyone who can go through what Wayne Rainey did and come away with such a great outlook and accomplishments has earned my respect... through actions, not words. I've seen posts in various fo- rums that still cuss the AMA for the state of the series. I'm very hopeful that the series will emu- late something like what British Superbike and World Super- bike and World Supersport do with the division of duties and responsibilities regarding rules, sponsorships, OEM relations, sanctioning, etc. The isolation is over and we have a group that is very approachable and open. John A. Stockman Via Facebook Carruthers Says II KRAVE is an American Mo- toGP renaissance? Good luck Rainey et al. Bruce Scholten Via Facebook Yamaha SR400 Six grand is a little steep, but a vespa can cost six grand too ("Welcome Back," Issue 36, September 9). I am getting old, but I still love it and want one please! Marc Solomon Via Facebook Yamaha SR400 II What a colossal bargain. A $2999 bike for only $5999. I'll take two! Sammy Stetler Via Facebook EBR Streetfighter Well I just test rode an Aprilia RSV4 and then rode the EBR right after that. The EBR is a fantastic bike if it were built eight years ago. It seems very dated with little tech goodies for the price. Still a good start for EBR. I personally couldn't justify spending the money for one when the competition offers so much more for less money. Just my opinion. Scott Boersma Via Facebook The Josh Herrin Saga Just a case of another Ameri- can going to Europe before he is really ready. This team has done him a favor in releasing him. Maybe now he will get the seasoning he still needs. Too many of the young riders look at the success of Kenny Rob- erts, Freddie Spencer, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson, etc. and think they can do it also. It's a different time with dif- ferent backgrounds and much harder competition. Good as these guys are there is still just that tick of difference they have not attained yet. Hopefully, the new Rainey group will give them a better platform to build on in the future. Gerald Williams Via Facebook Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
