Metty Fills In For
Fourth Overall
Brett Metcalfe rounded out the
top five after finishing seventh
and fifth in the two motos. "Metty"
filled in for Ryan Villopoto on the
Monster Energy Kawasaki team
for the outdoors and came away
with fourth overall in the champi-
onship.
"I didn't feel comfortable all
day until that second moto," said
Metcalfe. "In practice, it was so
muddy that I never got a good
lap. I didn't race here last year, so
I think the other guys had a little
bit of an advantage having raced
here before.
"Even in the first moto, it was
cleared up and good, but I still
didn't feel comfortable out there
and I just didn't feel it on the big
jump section out there. I didn't do
it until the second moto. But fifth
overall today and fourth in the
championship was awesome. I
think me and the Monster Energy
Kawasaki team was a good fit."

Racing Yamaha rider still felt the
need to put it all on the line, just
to let everyone know his season
wasn't a fluke.
In moto one, Martin chased his
teammate Cooper Webb for five
laps before finally making a pass
for the lead. From there the two
Yamaha riders led Blake Baggett,
Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin
and Monster Energy Pro Circuit
rookie Chris Alldredge across
the line.
In moto two, Martin was in the
lead from the start. Nineteen laps
later, Martin took the checkered
flag with over 17 seconds to spare
over GEICO Honda's Justin Bo-
gle.
"To be able to go 1-1 here today
was kind of nice because it's like
this is why I'm champ," said Mar-
tin. "This kind of reminded me of
the first two rounds, which was a
