FUELED BY MONSTER ENERGY AND PRESENTED BY MOOSE RACING AND SRT VOL. 51 ISSUE 33 AUGUST 19, 2014 P91 and difficult. However, when the going gets tough is when Webb gets going. The former U.S. National MotoTrials Champion seems to be able to find traction where others can't and he has a knack for floating across the tops of the slippery rocks when others are flailing in the cre- vasses in between. Webb gave a hint of how the day would go when he finished the three- mile Hot Lap 17 seconds faster than Taylor Robert, which is kind of mind blowing when you think about it. Kyle Redmond turned the third-fastest time, followed by RPM KTM's Bobby Proch- nau and fellow Canadian Cory Graf- funder. The Hot Lap times are used to de- termine the starting order for the first Knockout round, which is held on a 14-mile loop that would narrow the field down with only the fastest 25 riders moving on. Webb gave them more of the same in the first Knockout round, finishing with fastest time ahead of FMF/KTM teammates Robert, Kailub Russell and Grant Baylor. The skies opened up before the sec- ond Knockout round, which is divided into groups according to how they fin- ished in the first Knockout round, and it would take most of the riders nearly two hours to complete, with only 17 of the 25 riders making it to the finish line. Webb, Robert, Beta USA's Max Ger- ston, KR4's Nick Davis and Baylor were the winners in each of their groups. With the course in worse condition from the riders dragging mud onto the Taylor Robert was Webb's nearest rival but even Robert couldn't keep Webb in sight.
