TESTING 1-2-3
T
he first factory tests of the Michelin tires, due to
take over from Bridgestone in 2016, will begin
before the end of August in Japan—with Honda the
first with a factory test rider.
Ducati and Yamaha will get their first chance
to assess the return of the French rubber early in
September, probably at Brno.
The results are eagerly awaited.
"One big change is from 16.5-inch wheels to 17-
inch, and we are already making the parts for this,"
said Yamaha MotoGP Group Leader Kouichi Tsuji.
Ducati's Dall'Igna, said, "Michelin tires are completely different, and we may
find the bikes need ballast or something to adjust to them."

the Crawfordsville GNCC event
has been such a great success,
the idea of building a motocross
track was a natural progression.
"As things have evolved and
tracks have come and gone
there was an idea that a track
could be purpose built for an
event of this caliber," Coombs
explained. "The Shaver family
was all in. We went ahead and
built it and as things happened,
with the demise of Southwick
and other changes on the
schedule, we had the opportu-
nity to give this track a try. Had it
not been for the rain I'm sure this
event would have been an ex-
traordinary success and I'm sure
it will be next year, but that's the
luck of the draw."
The track was just completed
this spring. There had been just
one regional race held on the
track prior to the National. Mark
Peters designed and built the
track. Feedback from riders who
rode it on Thursday was very
positive.
The track features major ele-
vation changes with steep bluffs,
great soil, natural shaded areas
for spectators and wonderful
vantage points thanks to its natu-
ral amphitheater setting.
