'15 DUC NOT TIL
SEPANG
T
he all-new Ducati for 2015 will not be ready
for testing until early next year, for the Sepang
tests in February.
This was revealed at the same conference by
new Ducati Corse chief Gigi Dall'Igna, poached
from Aprilia at the end of last year to try to rescue
the increasingly tarnished reputation of the red
bikes after the Rossi debacle, and continuing poor
results.
Dall'Igna repeated his mantra that this year is
purely a development year—the reason for switch-
ing from Factory to Open status before the season,
giving them 12 engines and the ability to make en-
gine changes during the season. Factory engine
development is "frozen."
Riders are looking forward to the all-new ma-
chine, with Dovizioso having made it clear that his
hopes that that it will be successful were a major
reason for him having signed up to stay with Ducati.

THE VERDICT ON THE NEW
IRONMAN MX RACEWAY
W
ith natural rolling hills and
a flowing layout, the brand
new Ironman Raceway track was
quickly deemed one of the best
tracks on the Lucas Oil Pro Mo-
tocross circuit—that is until the
rain began to fall just prior to the
start of the Thor Indiana National,
August 16. Track conditions went
from being perfect, to less than
ideal, in just the matter of hours.
Yet in spite of the challenging
conditions, riders almost univer-
sally praised the new circuit.
The track itself is named in
honor of the late Hoosier racer
Bob Sloan, who used to race
both the ATV and motorcycle
GNCC events on the same
weekend, earning the nickname
of Ironman. The GNCC race that
started in Crawfordsville in 1995
was named in his honor and now
the new MX track follows suit.
MX Sport's Davey Coombs said
Despite the rain and muddy condi-
tions, racers of the Indian National
had nothing put positive things to
say about the new Ironman Race-
way track.
