MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10/AUGUST 9, 2014 UNADILLA VALLEY SPORTS CENTER/NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK P64 grabbed the holeshot and nev- er looked back. While fellow Frenchman Marvin Musquin ultimately challenged him late aboard his Red Bull KTM, Pour- cel was able to break through for his first moto win of the season with relative ease. The start of the second moto resulted in more of the same for Pourcel who captured yet another holeshot and the early lead. How- ever, 250-class points leader Jer- emy Martin continued to gain on Pourcel and eventually made the pass to take over the lead. "I think Jeremy and I, we were kind of riding the same pace for 15 minutes," Pourcel said. "He said on the podium that he was checking all my lines. And then I think he got all of the good lines from me and he got the better line whenever I was a little slower than him." Martin was able to best Pour- cel for the moto-two win, but the Frenchmen's 1-2 score was enough to capture the overall win, the seventh of his 250-class ca- reer and first of the 2014 season. Pourcel added, "I kind of want- ed to win both motos but Jeremy was a little bit faster. It was fun. Winning here is good memories." ONE STEP CLOSER Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin took another step toward his first 250-class title (Above) Ken Roczen has seen his once comfortable points lead slip to just seven with two rounds left. (Right) Chris Alldredge was the top finisher among the freshly turned pro riders at Unadilla. He finished eighth overall.
