MOTOGP MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10/AUGUST 10, 2014 INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY/INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA P42 SAVE OF THE WEEKEND: POL ESPARGARO In his first season in the deep end, gung-ho Pol Espargaro has crashed more than most – seven so far, beaten only by Monster Yamaha teammate Bradley Smith, with 12. He almost did it again in free practice, taking so much curb on the inside of the final corner that he actually ran off the inside. The bike bucked him high and took off at a tangent, still wheels down. Amazingly, he landed painfully back on the seat, and wrestled it back under control as it jumped the curb on the outside too. He spoke in a very high voice for a while afterwards. Pol Espargaro saved a near crash during qualifying. Paired up: The top four – Lorenzo (99), Marquez (93), Rossi (hidden) and Dovizioso (04) – stayed together in the early laps.
