Hopper Injured
John Hopkins suf-
fered a leg injury in the
second of three Brit-
ish Superbike races at
Oulton Park on Sun-
day. "I've banged up
my shin and foot so will
have it X-rayed on Mon-
day morning," Hopkins
said. "Unfortunately
it was another tough
weekend. Again we
proved that the poten-
tial is there and we're no
doubt crawling our way
towards the front, but
we just need to put it all
together and turn it into
race results."

YCRS Gets MSF
Recognition
The Motorcycle Safety
Foundation (MSF) has
announced its recog-
nition of the Yamaha
Champions Riding
School (YCRS), mak-
ing it only the second
third-party curriculum to
receive this distinction
by the MSF. The YCRS
is a descendant of the
Freddie Spencer High
Performance Riding
School and is now led
by Spencer's protégés
Nick Ienatsch and Ken
Hill. The school has
recently relocated to
the New Jersey Motor-
sports Park in Millville,
New Jersey.
DUNGEY, TOMAC,
MARTIN HEADED TO
MXoN
T
he AMA announced the 2014 USA Motocross of
Nations team during opening ceremonies at the
Unadilla National in New York on August 9. And, as
expected, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey (MX1) will
lead the team for the sixth time, he'll be joined by
GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac (MX3) and Yamalube/Star
Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin (MX2). Roger De-
Coster will again serve as team manager for the race
scheduled for Kegums, Latvia, on September 27-28.
"If you look at the way Ryan, Eli and Jeremy are rid-
ing at the moment, we should be back in the hunt for
a victory," said DeCoster. "The track we will be racing
at suits our style, and all the riders are talented and
on good equipment. Also, all of these riders want to
be here and compete for their country. That's what
we want in a team."
There was a lot of speculation that Dungey would
choose to sit this year out, but the team captain re-
sponded by saying, "Any opportunity I can get over
there to go and represent for my country, I'm all for
it. You work hard to be in that position and you work
hard to be that guy to go over, that they choose."
Ryan Dungey will again lead the U.S. Team into battle at
the Motocross of Nations in Kegums, Latvia.
