"I didn't feel comfortable in the
second test, I thought it was a lit-
tle sketchy, but I've been learning
to back it down and ride smooth
when I don't feel comfortable,"
said DeLong. "I've been injured
before trying to make time in that
kind of stuff and it's just not worth
it, so I think I've been able to find
a speed that lets me win and still
be safe."
In all, DeLong won outright or
tied for the win in three of the six
tests and finished the event with a
20-second margin of victory over
runner-up finisher Steward Baylor.
By taking the win, DeLong extend-
ed his lead in the series standings
to 17 points over Maxxis/Klim/Dirt-
Wise KTM rider Jesse Groemm,
who was third in Colorado.
"I'm stoked on another win," An-
drew said. "I felt great all day and
it feels good to add to my points
lead. I didn't have any issues aside
from some arm pump early on, but
overall I can't complain."
Steward Baylor finished the day
in second, despite getting off to a
relatively slow start. The older of
the two Baylor brothers was a full
40 seconds off of DeLong's time
in the first test, but like he's done
in the last two races, the FMF/
KTM rider was able to pick up the
pace, and, thanks to test wins in
three tests, he was able to work
his way back up into the runner-up
slot by the end of the day.
"I got another slow start, that
seems to be a theme with me,"
said Baylor. "I was able to gain
some momentum as the day went
on, but it was just an uphill battle
