We showed up at Billy Uhl's door step and chatted with the off-road racer
about the upcoming ISDE and team politic… We covered the local scene in
speedway… We also covered the World Road Race round in Sweden where
both Barry Sheene and Giacomo Agostini crashed out two laps from the
end. Teuvo Lansivuori took the win… We tested the latest 400cc moto-
crosser from CZ… We toured Nevada on
dirt bikes looking for ghost towns, and we
showed you how to find them.

We featured Kenny Roberts on the cover 40 years ago to accompany our
interview with the recent Laguna Seca winner… We traveled to Hinsdale,
Illinois, to cover the Santa Fe Short Track, where Randy Goss took the win
over Mickey Fay… We also covered the Hawthorne Mile won by Ricky Gra-
ham… Mike Baldwin won the GNC/Camel Pro Series round at Pocono…
Ron Lechien, Jeff Ward and David Bailey were the big winners at the Na-
tional Motocross at Millville… Shawn and Kelley Moran, and Lance King
all qualified for the World Individual Speedway
Championship.

Ricky Carmichael was pictured on the cover after he claimed his eighth
straight win in the outdoor National Motocross Series at Washougal. James
Stewart won the 125cc class… We covered Mickael Pichon's win at the
Czech Motocross Grand Prix… The 2005 Suzuki RM250 just came out
and we took a spin on the new 250cc motocrosser… We interviewed Jake
Zemke… Noriyuki Haga claimed a couple of wins at Brands Hatch World
Superbike… We were there when Honda won at the Suzuka 8-Hour.

We turned the clock back and revisited racing in the early days in what was
our Vintage Special Issue, which featured interviews with Dick Mann and Jeff
Smith, and the revival of an old Honda CR250 with Vintage Iron… Colin Ed-
wards accomplished the double at the Brainerd National… Kevin Schwantz
pulled off a "miracle" at the British GP… Kevin
Hines emerged smelling like a rose at the
Rose City Qualifier in Michigan… Yves De-
maria led the way at the Budds Creek 250cc
U.S. Grand Prix.
