it kind of feels good 'cause now
there's no what-ifs, 'Oh the Har-

was really good. I was actually re-
ally surprised at how good the setup

Although it may be far from Bryan
Smith's home in Flint, Michigan, the
Sacramento Mile is a special place
for him. "This place has been spe-
cial to me for a long time," Smith
said. "This is like my first pro race
away from home when I was 16 and
flying out of high school to come out
here on the weekends. A buddy of
mine, Willie McCoy, was racing; he
was kind of one of the hotter pros,
hauling my bikes out here. I won the
support class that year in 2000. To
still be doing it this much longer and
winning here, obviously it's special to
me. No matter if it's four in a row or
just one, it's always cool."
