O
ne would hope that Jorge
Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa,
Valentino Rossi and any-
one else who considers himself
capable of winning a MotoGP
is spending their summer break
chewing on metal objects be-
cause they are so pissed off that
with nine races already gone,
Marc Marquez is still undefeated.
Heck, it irks Wayne Rainey
and he's thousands of miles
away watching it on TV on Sun-
day mornings.
"It's been a little disappoint-
ing," Rainey says when reflect-
ing on the current season and
Marquez's domination. "I thought
some of Marquez's rivals would
push a little more or be a little
more consistent, but he is by
far the most consistent guy. The
other guys seem to be close
one race and not even close the
next."
So bottom line us, Mr. Rainey.
Will the Repsol Honda rider win
the next nine GPs and go unde-
feated?
"I was asked that question a
few races ago and I didn't think
he would go undefeated, but with
nine races left… well, a lot can
happen between now and then,"
Rainey says. "I still think it's a tall
order to go undefeated. I don't
think he can."
There. He said it. Rainey's now
in the ever shrinking minority who
doesn't think Marquez is going
to march through the next nine
rounds like he marched through
the previous nine.
But he says so with a caveat.
"He's either going to have to
make a mistake or Lorenzo, who
is probably the best guy, or now
even Pedrosa, can bring it to him
in a race where Marquez is off a
little bit. At the moment, he keeps
nailing these guys and he's doing
an incredible job to this point."
Rainey says it's all about confi-
dence and at this point, Marquez
