tween which made the racing a little more excit-
ing and we were able to push a little harder."
Jarrett admitted he liked the format for a dif-
ferent reason: "I haven't been riding that much
lately and it shows at the two-hour races. I seem
to be fine at the beginning and the last couple
laps start fading pretty bad. This was fun, and it
was pretty good for the spectators, too."
In the first moto, N-Fab/AmPro Yamaha's
Whibley rocketed off the start to claim the $100
FMF Holeshot Award followed closely by Jarrett,
Jason Thomas, Robert and the rest of the pack.
It wasn't long, however, before Robert worked
his way past the other two KTM riders and put

With no ATVs and no minis, the
weekend's schedule was very dif-
ferent than the usual OMA. Saturday
was filled with three practice ses-
sions (Pro, amateur then another Pro
session) with the usual "fun race"
completing the day at the track. But
that wasn't the final item on the Sat-
urday schedule because the Knuck-
le Saloon in town hosted the Pro/Pro
2 autograph session.
In Sunday morning's amateur race,
Beta-mounted Keith Novello from
Colorado took the overall as well as
Open A win.
Jeff Fredette showed up after add-
ing another Geo Tracker to his col-
lection—something he picked up in
New Mexico.
Mark Heresco changes
tires between motos. He
saw his OMA win streak
snapped when he had
problems in moto two
and finished sixth.
