a slightly smoother power de-
livery, which they thought made
the bike easier to ride. Overall,
they all agreed that the KX is still
very powerful from bottom to top,
where it likes to be ridden most.
It still loves to be revved that is for
sure. Unfortunately, it's still very
loud when you do that. The muf-
fler doesn't do a very good job
muffling.
The second most notable
change was in the stopping de-
partment. The larger front-brake
rotor makes a big difference for
the better. Stopping power is
much improved and you still have
plenty of control at the lever.
Finally, the KX's suspension
does feel a bit stiffer overall, yet
still maintains some initial plush-
ness. We felt little need to make
adjustments to the KX's suspen-
sion on the Milestone track,
which, on this particular day,
wasn't very demanding on either
the shock or fork.
Our taller test riders preferred
the footpegs in the lower position
and enjoyed the range of adjust-
ment with the handlebars.
Otherwise, after only a few
hours on the bike, we felt that the
2015 KX250F performs much
like it did last year (2014): It has
tons of usable power, it handles
well and has excellent suspen-
sion. So far so good.
The 2015 KX250F is certainly
worthy of a second date. CN
(Left) Faster riders
will appreciate the
KX's slightly stiffer
suspension.
(Right) Better
brakes, a smoother
power delivery and
more adjustability
translates into an
improved machine.
