estled at the foot of the
Rocky Mountains, Den-
ver's Bandimere Speed-
way is one of the most beautiful
facilities on the NHRA Mello Yello
tour, but at 5800 feet above sea
level, it is also one of the most
challenging. Teams must com-
pletely alter their tune-up from
the sea-level tracks in order to
be competitive and, following its
latest win, no one does that bet-
ter than Andrew Hines and the
Screamin' Eagle Harley team.
Two weeks after debuting a
new bike with a win at the Nor-
walk, Ohio round, Hines made
the necessary adjustments to
race in Denver and delivered an
equally dominant performance,
beating Star Racing Buell's Mi-
chal Ray in the final round. Hines
was in the 7.2-second zone for all
eight of his runs in qualifying and
eliminations, including a 7.24 in
the final after Ray's bike broke.
"Our team put this bike togeth-
er in three days and then capped
it off with a Wally in Norwalk and
now we got another one here,"
Hines said. "I lived here [in Colo-
rado] for 10 years and this place
is very special to me. I made my
