rpm onwards, with a slight extra
kick around 7000 rpm en route
to the soft action RBW rev-limiter
at 10,500 rpm. It has little of the
lumpy response low down of previ-
ous air-cooled Monsters, and apart
from the difficulty in finding neutral,
the six-speed gearbox has a light
and precise shift action that's a
pleasure to use.
Really, this is more than a mid-
dleweight bike in terms of per-
formance, illustrating very well
Ducati's successful ongoing de-
velopment aimed at proving less
can indeed be more.
