IN THE WIND P26 contributions have been a huge part of Team USA's resurgence in the Speedway World Cup. Fortu- nately, he will be on hand to lend support to the team during the competition." As for Ruml… Hamill isn't con- cerned about the youngster's de- but on the world scene. "Max has been phenomenal on the U.S. scene this year," Hamill said. "He rode exception- ally well at the second round of the AMA National Series [at the European-sized track] at Ventura last month. He is fast, he listens and he learns. There is no pres- sure on him. He is there to earn some points when the opportu- nity is there." Ruml will join Team USA team- mates Greg Hancock, Ricky Wells, Gino Manzares and re- serve rider Aaron Fox as the Americans take on teams from Great Britain, Australia and Italy. The winning team goes straight through to the final, while the second and third place teams proceed to the race-off; with both taking place the following week in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Steve Evans BRITISH DOUBLE FOR BOU I t was a weekend of double wins for Toni Bou and the Repsol Honda team as he dominated both days of competition in the Grand Prix of Great Brit- ain in Penrith, England, on Saturday and Sunday. Bou's closest challenger in the championship – Gas Gas' Adam Raga – ended up second on both days, beating Beta's Jeroni Fajardo by just a single point in Sunday's finale. After two days of action in England, Bou has now a 10-point lead over Raga at the top of the championship. The first day of the trial was held in wet condi- tions, but Sunday dawned sunny and warm and Bou turned up the heat on Raga, with the latter earning 13 marks on the first lap while Bou lost just a single five-mark penalty in section eight to take an early lead that he held to the finish. Round seven of the championship will take place next weekend, Sunday, July 27 at the Pyrenean ski resort of La Mongie in France. "I am so happy to take the win today and extend my championship lead," Bou said on Sunday. "It was important to take the two wins in Great Britain and the 10- point lead in the championship, and what I was looking for. At this moment I am feeling very confident and as you can see this is reflected in my low scoring rides on both of the days."
