SACHSENRING CIRCUIT/SACHSENRING, GERMANY

it was pretty confusing for a while
mid-field. Petrucci in particular
put up a good fight in the early
laps, with great daring through
those slow-drying last corners.
Bradl was in dire straits. His
20-second advantage over Mar-
quez was cut to less than eight
seconds in the first lap alone,
and his run up front lasted only
six of the 30 laps. From there he
would keep on dropping back,
ending up out of the points in
16th, after being passed by that
same Petrucci in the closing
stages. A small tactical error had
been compounded by events.
"I am speechless," he said.
The Repsol Hondas were firm-
ly in control, Marquez circulating
steadily, Pedrosa matching him
by tenths, but never quite close
enough.
With 10 of the short laps to
go, the gap was over a second
for the first time after "I made a
couple of mistakes," and Pe-
Rossi rode mostly
alone to fourth place
after fighting his way
through the pack from
his pit-lane start.
