K
awasaki's Tom Sykes pro-
vided a miraculous per-
formance in Superpole
on Saturday and a couple more
displays of skill and willpower on
race day to boot, as he scored
a podium in race one and then
seized a strong win in race two,
taking advantage of a rivals' mis-
fortune in the latter.
The first World Superbike race
at Laguna Seca went the full 25-
lap distance, but the second was
a scrappy, even injurious affair
for some, in which many people
were lucky to escape more se-
rious harm than fractures and
heavy impacts.
