2014 HONDA CBR650F FIRST RIDE P106 fun factor. When it comes to the numbers, Honda claims that the 650F delivers approximately 87 horsepower and 46 foot pounds of torque. The fuel injection (PGM-FI) system (with automatic enrich- ment) features 32mm throttle bodies paired with long, narrow air-intake funnels (30mm) and a straight-line design through the air cleaner-intake-exhaust tract along with minimal valve overlap that helps boost power output and fuel efficiency. The exhaust header was in- spired by the classic 1974 CB400 and features a 4-2-1 design that leads into a small stylish muf- fler located on the bottom of the bike just behind the engine. The 650F system uses internal air- regulating panels, allowing it to be the desired length for design and handling while retaining the power characteristics that Honda was looking for. A list of chassis features in- clude a newly designed twin-spar style steel frame with an oval main frame that allows for a slim design up top and cast side plates on the side - designed to minimize frame width for improved ground clear- ance. Pair that with an aluminum swingarm and Honda claims that it achieves just the right amount of flex and stability from the chas- sis for best overall feel. A non-adjustable conventional 41mm fork with 4.25 inches of travel features a light spring rate with heavy valving. A single rear shock with five inches of travel doesn't have clicker adjustment but does come with a seven-po- sition pre-load adjustability. In the stopping department the Honda CBR650F uses Nissin hy- draulic brakes with a six-position adjustable front brake lever, dual 320mm rotors with two-piston calipers up front, and a single 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper in the back. Stylish six-spoke cast alumi- num wheels are wrapped with Dunlop 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear tires, and the CBR650F features a 525 O-ring chain-drive system with a 15/42 gearing combo. Seat height comes in at 31.9 inches – one inch taller than the CBR500R and .4 of an inch low- er than the CBR600RR. Wheel- The CBR650F has the styling characteristics of a more expensive Supersport bike.
