The Monster Energy Kawasaki
Team Green squad was out in
force in Mammoth and flat out
dominated the racing action
Tuesday through Sunday. After
all was said and done, the green
team left the mountain with 14 Big
Bear AMA Championships and a
grand total of 28 Bears in hand.
Surely a record of some sort.
Team Green did the most
damage during the Mini racing,
where it claimed 14 Bear trophies
and seven AMA Championships,
four of those earned by just two
riders—Jett Reynolds and Stilez
Robertson. Reynolds nabbed his
Big Bears (AMA titles) in the 65cc
(9-11) and 65cc Open classes
and Robertson's in the Mini Sr.
2 (9-14) and 85cc (9-11) classes.
They pretty much won every time
they got on the bike.
Garrett Marchbanks claimed
the Mini Sr. 1 (12-13) Champion-
ship, and Austin Forkner and
Sean Cantrell shared the two pre-
mier Supermini-class Champion-
ships that were up for grabs.
The "orange" team—KTM—was
expected to challenge the green
team, but the KTM squad was
decimated by injuries. A couple
of their riders were already hurt
coming in and couldn't suit up,
and a few were dinged up dur-
ing the Mammoth competition,
including Peirce Brown, who
started off strong by winning the
