On the gas from the get-go,
DeLong won the opening three
tests of the day and finished third
and second in the remaining two,
making a strong point that he's in-
deed worthy of the 2014 enduro
crown.
FMF/KTM teammates Mike
Lafferty and Steward Baylor chal-
lenged DeLong early, along with
AirGroup Racing's Nick Fahring-
er, who posted the second-fast-
est time in test three after getting
off to a slow start in test one.
Jesse Groemm joined the
front-runners at the midway point
of the race, tying DeLong for
the fastest time in test four, and
then posting the second-fastest
time in test five. A crash in the
final test, however, dropped the
Maxxis/Klim/Dirtwise/KTM rider
all the way down to eighth in the
final results.
In the end, DeLong took the
overall win with a minute and four
second advantage over Baylor,
who separated himself from Fah-
ringer and Groemm with the fast-
