field to finish fifth.
Knowing he needed a good
start in order to have a shot at his
second overall win of the season,
Dungey shot out to capture the
moto-two holeshot but his team-
mate Roczen had other plans.
The German rookie stole the
lead away from Dungey on the
opening lap and it, once again,
became a head-to-head battle
between the Red Bull KTM riders

got the holeshot. I was running in the
top five for almost 20 minutes, but I
started getting tired with my shoulder
injury. It was getting hard to hang on
to again, so I let a few people get by
me so I could just finish the race."
Wilson's teammate Justin Hill had a
tough day at Muddy Creek. He suf-
fered an injury to his hand in the first
moto and did not suit up for the sec-
ond moto.
Monster Energy Kawasaki's Brett
Metcalfe wasn't even sure he was
going to be able to race at Muddy
Creek after suffering a back in-
jury during the week. He ended up
choosing to ride but it was a tough
day for the Aussie who was caught
up in a first-turn pileup in the first
450 moto. "The race went well,"
said Metcalfe. "The Monster Energy
Kawasaki team did a great job set-
ting up the bike and making adjust-
ments between motos. It has been a
hard week with my back going out,
but I was able to gut through it and
when I was racing I didn't really feel
any pain, but in the middle of the mo-
tos it really started to tighten up. I'm
looking forward to healing more this
week and heading into RedBud at
100 percent."
