all the way down there? Looking
somewhat shocked, he owned
up to being scared, leading to his
worst-ever MotoGP finish.
"The bike was well, on both
wet and dry. I just could not get
confident enough," Lorenzo
said. "I was scared again at this
track and I didn't want to take the
risk. It's 100 percent my fault, and
I apologize to my team and the
fans. I wasn't able to be brave."
It was the legacy of last year,
when he'd broken his collarbone
in practice, flown home for an in-
stant repair, and returned to race
to sixth. That memory played
on his mind. "I'm not fighting for
the World Championship, and it
made me nervous."
Hayden also had a woeful
face, after having "quite enjoyed"
the wet because it was easier on
his wrist. But his problem had
been the bike after the change to
slicks. "It wasn't running right and
I couldn't get heat into the discs
while I was looking at the switch-
es to see why, so the first lap was
hard, and lost a lot of time and
positions, and then I had a ter-
rible race."
Marquez is the first to win the
first eight races since Giacomo
Agostini in 1970. His title lead is
now 72 points over Rossi and Pe-
drosa, 200-128. Dovizioso is next
on 91, then comes Lorenzo with
