IN THE WIND P30 two-day overall class title. Garrett Marchbanks did the same in the Mini Sr. 1 (12-13) class. Austin Forkner and Sean Cantrell (both Team Green riders) split overall two-day champion- ships in the Supermini 1 and 2 divisions. KTM rider Chance Hymas was perfect in the 65 (6-8) class, win- ning both motos both days, while Cobra pilots Jordan Torres and Parker Ross split wins in the 50cc Open class, though Torres claimed the two-day overall championship. In the big-bike classes, some of the winners included Team Green's Chris Alldredge who won the Open and 450 Pro Sport Championships but finished sec- ond to Amsoil Honda's Jordon Smith in the 250 Pro Sport class. Yamaha rider Ryan Surratt won the 450 B class, while KTM rider Mitchell Harrison topped the 250 B class. In the popular FMF Two-Stroke Challenge, Kawasaki KX500- mounted Sean Collier claimed the win over Dare Demartile and Surratt. Some of the Vet winners in- cluded Michael Sleeter (Satur- day, 30 Pro, KTM), Tim Weigand (Sunday, 30 Pro, Honda), Doug Dubach (40 A, Yamaha), Rob- ert Engel (50 A/B, Kawasaki), Daron Rahlves (40 B, KTM) and Michael Lapaglia (50 C, Suzuki). BOBBY GOODIN DIES AT PIKES PEAK B obby Goodin, a club road racing star of the early 1980s who earned a Superbike tryout with Yoshimura Suzuki before last-minute downsizing of the team left him on the sidelines, died Sunday night from injuries he suffered in the Pikes Peak In- ternational Hillclimb. He was 54. According to reports from eye- witnesses Goodin crossed the line at the summit and was still go- ing at a high rate of speed when he raised his hand to celebrate making it to the top. He lost the front end on the gravel section at the top and the bike veered right, launching Goodin over the edge, flipping him end-over-end into a patch of boulders. Goodin was airlifted to Pen- rose Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. Goodin was com- peting in the Middleweight class aboard a Triumph 675R. He'd finished third in the Heavyweight class in 2013. Goodin, who called Flower Mound, Texas, home, was raised around motorcycles. The high school Goodin went to hap- pened to produce an amazing amount of guys who went on to be top-notch motorcycle racers. "Mike and Gary Kidd graduat- ed from there," Goodin said.
