Janniro gave it all of his might with some blistering outside speed, but could not close ground on his rival. The shocked crowd looked on for what would be a monu- mental upset, only for Ruml to enter the final turn with too much speed. He was left with no option but to shut off power or end up in the crashwall, so Janniro took full advantage moved inside to win, though Ruml recovered to get the second transfer spot to the Big Final. Eddie Castro and Blair were eliminated. Both current incumbents need to deliver in the second half of the season. Stefan Bradl is the more se- cure with LCR, since the German continues to knock on the door of the top five, although without showing significant progress. Go&Fun man Alvaro Bautista has hit the ros- trum at Le Mans, but in a typically patchy season that began with three race crash- es and has fallen short of the high life at several other races. Candidates for the coveted seats are not numerous, and often already half-snagged elsewhere in the web. Andrea Dovizioso's name is often men- tioned; while Cal Crutchlow might also be available. At the same time, Scott Redding has made a strong class debut, and might reasonably hope to be pro- moted within the Gresini team.
