knee but overall I felt pretty good. I
knew what I was struggling with and
I knew coming in how my body felt
so I'm excited to get back to work. I
learned a lot and I'm looking forward
to RedBud. I feel like when I'm 100
percent and when I get good starts,
I can pretty much run up front with
anyone, or at least stay in the top
five."
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasa-
ki's Dean Wilson returned to racing
at Muddy Creek, much sooner than
many had anticipated after suffer-
ing a major gash by his knee at the
opening round at Glen Helen. Wilson
was one of the riders caught up in
the first-turn pileup in the first 250
moto, where he caught up to 14

. He
finally had an incident-free moto in
the second round, finished seventh
for ninth overall. "I was disappointed
to go down in the first moto," said
Wilson. "I wanted to get back into the
rhythm of racing and unfortunately I
had to do that while fighting my way
through the pack. The second moto
went much better since I was in a
battle the whole time. I'm going to
keep working to get a win this sea-
son."
GEICO Honda's Zach Bell strug-
gled with a shoulder injury on the
day. "The day started off good for
us," Bell said. "In the first qualifying
session I was second-fastest, but in
the second session I crashed and
hurt my shoulder pretty badly. I still
went out in the first moto and was
running in the top 10 for a while, but
it was so bad to hang on to with my
shoulder that I decided to pull off and
just call it so I wouldn't hurt myself
more. In the second moto I had to
start out on the outside and almost
continued on next page
down the next time around and
fall to fourth.
"I tipped over after that big
triple in the left corner and my
leg got stuck under the bike so it
took me a while to get out," Roc-
zen said. "After that I ended up
getting together with a lapper and
went down again."
