MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 8/JUNE 28, 2014
CIRCUIT VAN DRENTHE/ASSEN, NETHERLANDS
P52
second third place in a row.
Rossi had got back out in 10th
after the tire change, a couple
of seconds adrift of Iannone,
himself trailing a group of three
disputing fifth, with Go&Fun
Honda's Alvaro Bautista heading
Crutchlow and the already slick-
shod Parkes on the PBM, who
was making a good fist of staying
with them.
Rossi's Yamaha was soon with
them, and ahead by lap 15. Only
Iannone was able to follow, out
of touch by the end; Bautista
fell back to be caught, but just
not passed by Bradley Smith on
the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha.
Crutchlow, suffering familiar un-
dersteer problems, had dropped
out of touch in ninth.
Stefan Bradl crashed his LCR
Honda on the sighting lap, spoil-
ing his prospects and requiring a
hasty repair. He was a lone 10th,
after finally getting ahead of the
up-to-speed Parkes's Open bike
on lap 23.
Andrea Iannone (29) leads Alvaro
Bautista (19), Cal Crutchlow (35) and
Valentino Rossi. Rossi started from
pit row, but fought his way through
to fifth.
