massively. The accessibility level
is massively changed. If a team
decides to come in, they can do
it now. The days of GSE com-
ing along with a factory Ducati
have gone. So we have opened
the door. The guys who have in-
vested in Evo this year have ulti-
mately invested in a Superstock
bike with a Superbike chassis.
So they do not have to change
any parts in their chassis they just
have to update their engines to a
halfway house for a Superbike.

AMA SPEEDWAY NATIONALS
HEAD TO VENTURA
R
ound two of the AMA Speed-
way National Champion-
ship Series moves to Ventura
Raceway on the Ventura County
Fairgrounds this Saturday night,
June 28, as racing gets under-
way at 7 p.m. on the one-fifth
mile banked dirt oval.
Defending AMA champion
Billy Janniro was quick to put his
stamp on this year's champion-
ship by winning all of his races in
dominating fashion at round one
in Costa Mesa two weeks ago.
Filling out the top five were Char-
lie Venegas, Tyson Burmeister,
Max Ruml and Buck Blair, who
find themselves in the thick of
the championship as they search
for a way to get around Janniro.
Help may be on the way in the
form of 20-year-old California
native Gino Manzares, who has
been plying his trade on the Brit-
ish Premier League as a member
of the Ipswich Witches. Last year
Manzares finished second to
Janniro at the Ventura round.
Following the Ventura event,
the AMA Speedway National
Championship Series continues
to Industry Racing in the City of
Industry, California on August 9
and finishes at Fast Fridays in
Auburn, California on September
19.
Early arrivers can catch quali-
fying for the two wild card posi-
tions beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 with discounts
for youth, seniors and military.
The Ventura round is the only
race in the series taking place on
a European-sized track and will
likely be a game changer for the
series.
Billy Janniro heads to round two of
the AMA Speedway Championship
with the points lead.
