IN THE WIND P30 ley-Davidson." said Levatich. "In just the last few years, we've broadened our reach to serve an increasingly diverse society, as well as reinvented our ap- proach to product development and manufacturing. This has re- sulted in cutting-edge products like the recently launched Project Rushmore touring bikes, Harley- Davidson Street 500 and 750 models and this reveal of Project LiveWire." Harley says the bike was de- signed to use the company's styl- ing heritage and says the bike has the look, sound and feel of a Harley. P almeto Kawasaki's Kenny Noyes took his third straight pole and his third consecu- tive win in the CEV Superbike race at the Circuit of Barcelona- Catalunya on June 22 to extend his points lead from five to 14 points. The American battled four-time Span- ish National Cham- pion Carmelo Morales wheel to wheel for al- most 16 of the 17 laps and nothing was set- tled as the two entered the stadium section at the end of the penulti- mate lap. While it looked like it would go down to the wire, Mo- rales lost the front and crashed three corners from the finish line. Noyes was then able to cruise home to win by over 12 seconds. "I knew the only way to beat Carmelo [Morales] here was to push hard from the beginning," Noyes said. "I tried to get away and couldn´t and I knew Car- melo wanted to sit on my rear wheel and prepare a pass on the final lap, so I slowed the pace down so much that he decided to take the lead. He surprised me with a real change of pace. We had both done a single high 1:44 early in the race when the tires were fresh, but I didn´t ex- pect him to do a 45 flat. He sud- denly took .6 of a second lead. And I had to really dig deep to close on him again. I was right on his rear wheel again when he crashed. I was planning to pass him at the end of the straight, but I know he would have fought back and that last lap would have been crazy. I wish Carme- lo a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action real soon." Morales suffered two broken ankles in the crash. BMW-mounted Dani Rivas finished second in the race with Kawasaki's Ivan Silva third. American Kenny Noyes (9) took his third straight win in the CEV Superbike Series with a victory in Catalunya on Sunday. He now leads the championship by 14 points.
