THE HARLEY ELECTRIC BIKE H arley-Davidson took the wraps off its Proj- ect LiveWire last week – the Motor Company's first electric motorcycle. The bike will be taken around the country with Harley selecting consum- ers to ride and provide feedback on the bike with visits to more than 30 dealerships scheduled now through the end of the year. In 2015, Har- ley will take its Project LiveWire to Canada and Europe for the same cos- tumer interaction. The bike is not yet for sale and Harley gives no specif- ics as to when or if that will hap- pen. "America at its best has al- ways been about reinvention," said Matt Levatich, President and Chief Operating Officer of Harley. "And, like America, Harley-Davidson has reinvented itself many times in our history, with customers leading us every step of the way. Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in our history." Those who don't get the chance to ride the new bike can experience it through a simulator called Jumpstart, according to Harley.
