SUPERBIKE AMA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS 5-6/JUNE 21-22, 2014 BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK/LEEDS, ALABAMA P52 here, but that's kind of how the race went. I've been putting in a lot of training in Florida, with Aldon [Baker], Kenny [Roczen] and AC [Adam Cianciarulo]. They've been pushing me and I knew it was going to be a hot race today and we were really going to have a strong chance of doing something special. "I can't speak for all of the riders, but when you're in that long of a race and hot, your brain starts to fade and mis- takes can happen. I put in a really solid race and I'm just thankful to be up here. I want to thank the Yoshimura Suzuki team for giving me an incredible bike." Anthony and Clark weren't alone. The EBR riders Larry Pegram (fourth) and Cory West (fifth) both scored their first top- five finishes of the season. Sixth-place Sean Dwyer was followed by Reese Wacker, Trent Gibson, Johnny Rock Page and Frankie Babuska rounding out the top 10 on Saturday. It was career-best finishes for each and every one of them. Cardenas Comeback Cardenas' Yoshimura Suzuki didn't need a repair job after his first-lap crash in Saturday's race, it needed a headstone. Carde- nas escaped largely unscathed, except for a dinged-up left hand. He shook off the crash and came back Sunday to finish runner up to Hayes. It marked his best re- sult of the season and he felt he owed the finish to his team. "It feels so good," Cardenas said of Sunday's second. "I feel so sorry for my team, my me- chanics because I destroyed the bike yesterday. They did a great job building up again the bike and I just wanted to get a good result today. I ended up second – that's pretty good. We're looking forward to the next race - don't make mistakes and improve a little." CN RACE ONE 1. Josh Hayes (Yamaha) 2. David Anthony (Suzuki) 3.
