was already doing this event. He
has a 100cc bike he was going to
race, but last night when I talked
to him, he said, 'How 'bout you
race the bike?' I was like, 'Right
on. Let's do it.'"
Not many professionals would
agree to line up on a bike they'd
never ridden or tested especially
not one as unique as a vintage
100cc air-cooled two-stroke. But
as Collier demonstrated, he is
not like most pros.
"I love riding vintage bikes and
anything like that," Collier said. "I
grew up watching all these guys.
A lot of my peers, their parents
really didn't teach them the roots
of the sport. But I grew up watch-
ing all the old tapes and these are
the guys I looked up to. So many
of the guys today are into the glitz
and glamour and this isn't about
that. It's just about having fun on
